His Excellency, Ambassador Musa John, High Commissioner

This is to announce that the Nigerian High Commissioner to Trinidad & Tobago, His Excellency, Mr. Musa John Jen, presented his Letters of Credence today, Tuesday the 23rd of September, 2008, to His Excellency, Prof. George Maxwell Richards, President of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, with all the trimmings of diplomatese. He was escorted by four (4) horse mounted Soldiers in front and four (4) behind and a despatch rider after the event ! He had almost one hour of discussions with the President.
The High Commissioner was accompanied by his wife, one daughter, the Deputy High Commissioner, and the two Ministers in the Mission.
Since he only arrived post the day before, he presented his Copie d'Usage to the Foreign Ministry earlier in the morning.
A "Vin d'honneur" (reception) was held in his honour in the evening, to which Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Foreign Ministry Staff, some Nigerians and some members of the host Business community were invited.
The High Commissioner used the occasion to assure his diplomatic colleagues, the host authorities and the business community, of his readiness to work closely with them, with a view to further enhancing the close friendly ties that exist between Nigeria and their countries.
We wish the High Commissioner a successful tenure in Trinidad & Tobago.
